Yep, he does it again. (not coincidentally) out on what the Mayan's predicted would be the last day of civilisation as we know it, there is a definite apocalyptic vibe throughout this EP.
If there was to be a doomsday, the soundtrack to it could very well start with the first track of this ep, The Dread.
Between an intensity at times dark and dreadful, while keeping a great brightness and extreme clarity (if that makes any sense) Nsekt brings out the ETC. EP, including 5 tracks plus 2 remixes.
Going back to 140 BPM's, as the producer himself mentioned this ep is closer to the music he plays on his DJ sets. A sort of tribal, hypnotic feel on parts of the release and the mysterious yet super smooth title track complement each other on this heavy EP.
On remix duty, Ary (Blasted Mechanism) turns The Dread into his own, transforming it into a curious and lighter wobbly number yet maintaining the intensity of the track, while Modo Fractal who keeps surprising us every time (in a good way) gives the title track ETC. a rougher gangsta treatment while keeping the smoothness of the original.
This comes across as a mature EP and we're happy to see this producer who's been involved in many different projects, so relevant for the electronic music scene in Portugal in the last 10 years, finding his sound while he keeps experimenting, evolving and keeping things fresh.
